In Colorado we went on many hikes and nature walks and just outside our lake house we saw a moose and it’s baby! And when we were driving to a visitor center we all jumped out of the car to see about 20 elk! Then we continued driving to the alpine visitor center where we then went to the gift shop first. DUH! Then we ate at the cafe and then we went to the actual visitor center in Rocky Mountain National Park, where the park rangers gave us and our cousins an activity booklet. The book said if you did 8 activities you would get your Jr. Ranger badge so I did the 8 activities, then we had to go home and I didn’t get my badge. I went back to a different visitor center a few days later, and  after a talk about the animals of the park I got my Junior Ranger badge and put it on my baseball cap.

Here are some of the things we saw in Rocky Mountain National Park!

Animals and plants that we have seen: Coyote, Elk, Mule Deer, Wyoming Ground Squirrel, Black-billed Magpie, Broad-tailed Hummingbird, Red-tailed Hawk, Golden-mantled Ground Squirrel, Least Chipmunk, Bighorn Sheep, Yellow-bellied Marmot, Brown-capped Rosy Finch, Common Raven, Moose, Western Terrestrial Garter Snake

We also did many activities like: fishing, kayaking, (when we were kayaking we saw fighter jets! They were so loud! And they made my hair fling into my face)  paddle boarding, hiking, horse riding, bowling, we saw a movie, (Leap) and we did a ropes course.

When we went horse riding, there was a petting zoo with these really cute cows that would try to nurse on your hand. It did not hurt because they only barely had teeth on the bottom of their jaws. There were also pigs, chickens and ducks as well as goats and a miniature donkey who was very cute.

This was an amazing trip and I was very excited to see my cousins when we were driving here, and I had a great time with them. This  blog post was very fun to write. Max (our dog) is very excited to go home with my cousins and their 2 dogs Oliver and Rosie, he loves playing with Oliver. Hope you were fascinated by this blog post.
